About Me

Educational History:

1999, I graduated from Lake View High School in San Angelo, Texas.

2010, I earned my certificate of completion in Advanced Printing Design from Western Technology Center, Burns Flat, Oklahoma.

2013, I completed my B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies at SWOSU in Weatherford, Oklahoma.

2018, I graduated with my M.Ed. in Special Education from SWOSU.

2019, I finished my M.Ed. in Instructional Coaching, again at SWOSU.

Degrees and Certifications:

I am certified to teach students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Professional Development:

My focus is on working with students from a trauma-informed perspective.

Current Position:

I am now going into my second year of teaching special education for the 2019-2020 school year.

Previous Position:

Previous to teaching, I was with Clinton Public Schools for three years as a paraeducator. I held 32 different job titles in a wide variety of fields leading up to my career in education. I learned something new in each position and am still learning new information and strategies as I teach my students.

Family Information:

I married Ryan Butterfield in March of 2007. We have a blended family of six, and we have two dogs and two cats.

Personal Information:

I thoroughly love art and music of many genres. I have been known to crochet wire into jewelry, do pencil or charcoal portraits, paint, dabble in photography and technology, occasionally sing, and cook – soups and stews are my specialties.
